One of Slovakia's three largest banks runs its mortgage back office on EigenPal, fully on-prem. No document, model call or intermediate result leaves the bank's data centre.
Before, a team read each document and typed the data into the internal system by hand. Now the system arrives pre-filled and a person only clicks Approve.
Three document types, one platform
Bank statement analysis
The salary-verification workflow reads customer bank statements in any format and builds the picture a mortgage approver needs.
- Identifies the primary employer, monthly income patterns and transaction types
- Validates employment continuity, irregular payments and job changes
- Outputs a six-month salary history with compliance flags
Insurance contract extraction
Property insurance contracts arrive as scans from dozens of insurers, each with its own layout.
- Extracts policy numbers, addresses, cadastral data, insured amounts and dates
- Validates that signatures are present, that the start date is right, and that the insured amount is at least the mortgage amount
- Outputs structured JSON with more than 20 validated fields, each linked back to the source document
Cadastre changes
Extracts from the land registry are parsed and checked the same way, so ownership and encumbrances are confirmed before the mortgage is drawn.
How a case flows
The specialist no longer transcribes. They read the flags the workflow raised, check anything below the confidence threshold and approve. Every field on the screen carries a link to the page it came from.
Why fully on-prem
The bank's policy is that customer documents stay inside its own environment. EigenPal runs as containers on the bank's infrastructure with the bank's own OCR and language models behind it. The bank owns the data and the deployment; EigenPal delivers the platform, the workflows and the service levels.
Results
- 70% reduction in processing time across the mortgage back office
- Three document workflows in production: bank statements, insurance contracts, cadastre extracts
- More than 20 validated fields per insurance contract, each linked to its source
- Staff time moved from transcription to review and approval
